Where am I going in 2025?

 Tour of the Borders

Tour of the Borders is a three-day road cycling tour in the scenic Scottish Borders, riding quiet tarmac roads at a leisurely pace. Enjoy stunning hilltop views, delicious pub lunches, and a visit to Abbotsford’s historic grounds, home of Sir Walter Scott. A perfect mix of beauty, history, great company, and warm hospitality!

Who am I?

I love cycle touring—discovering new places, exploring different parts of the world, and

embracing the freedom of the open road. But no matter where I go, I always find myself drawn back to the Scottish countryside.

I’m passionate about making cycle touring and cycling in general more accessible, showing that anyone—regardless of age, background, or fitness level—can enjoy the adventure.

By profession, I’m a freelance sound designer and cycle trainer.

More than anything, I want to inspire and encourage more people to experience the joy of cycle touring!

My tour leading style
My guiding style is relaxed and easygoing. I put in plenty of preparation before the tour, allowing me to enjoy the ride alongside the group. I’m flexible in my approach—if participants prefer to stay close together as one group, I’m happy to lead that way. Likewise, if some riders prefer more independence, they’re welcome to ride at their own pace. Everyone receives a GPX file to navigate the route and join us at café stops. My priority is ensuring no one feels left to ride alone all day—unless that’s exactly what they prefer
The roads I take

I prioritize quiet roads whenever possible, only using busier routes when absolutely necessary. I seek out interesting spots, take in breathtaking hilltop views, and enjoy delicious lunches at charming local pubs and cafés.

The places we stay

Whenever possible, I choose local hostels or recommended family-run B&Bs, ideally with secure overnight bike storage. I prefer accommodations with self-catering options to keep costs low and offer flexibility—whether for individual cooking or shared group meals. I also make a point of finding great local pubs or restaurants to recommend.

Where do I go?

I started touring in 2016 while living in Bristol, with my first trip taking me into Wales. Since then, I’ve explored the UK extensively, riding both road and gravel routes. My journeys have included Land’s End to John o’ Groats, Scotland’s North Coast 500, and the Second City Divide—an off-road route between Edinburgh and Manchester, among others.

I’ve also ventured into long-distance racing, taking on the 2022 Trans Alba Race, a demanding loop around Scotland. Alongside that, I’ve tackled smaller endurance challenges, including events with The Racing Collective and the Pennine Rally.
