Tour Number: CW241 Leaders Details: Colin Ward Dates: 11th May - 17th May 2024 Description: The group will meet up at a hotel on the mainland before riding south through Hayling Island on the traffic-free Billy Trail (the track of an old Victorian tramway). We make the short crossing to Portsea Island on the little Hayling ferry and then follow the sea-front to catch the bigger ferry across the Solent. The Isle of Wight will be explored in a series of day rides from our cliff-top hotel base. The Isle of Wight is like a chunk of the South Downs that has been sawn off and shoved out into the English Channel, so climbs over 300ft hills feature on most routes. Cycle paths mostly follow the routes of disused railways which were built along river valleys. Price: £760 (plus £298 single supplement) What’s included: 4 nights hotel, half board, sharing rooms. 2 nights hotel, B&B, sharing rooms. Secure Bike Storage. Maps, GPS files, route sheets. Bikexplore and Tour Leader's costs. Numbers on the tour: The maximum number of participants will be 13 including the Tour Leader. The price is based on a minimum number of 10 participants taking part in the tour. If there are insufficient bookings by 2nd March 2024, we will contact you and return all monies paid.
